Your Home; Your Haven

So you've decided you want to design your home? It's no surprise - if you are like most prospective home owners, you have a picture in mind of just what your “home” should look like. If you could choose a room to express your personality, your living room should top that list as it sets the tone for your entire decorating style.

There are many things to consider when designing your own home, whether you live in a small space or have a room that is quite large, it is important to maximize your space and maintain functionality. Always paint small rooms in softer, lighter colours, as light colors always make a space look larger and feel airier, while dark colors make a space look smaller. Keep this in mind if you have a tiny apartment but want to make it look larger.

A home with clashing colours isn't appealing to the eye. A sense of balance and richness of colour is advised as it affects the mood of your space. The choice of colour you use for your home can give it a sophisticated and elegant look as the colours you use tend to add a sense of style to your home.

Plants are not only beautiful, but can clean, absorb pollutants, harmful gases and balance humidity. No home should be without these wonderful greens. Add plants to your living space, add them to every room, small or large, few or many. It's an inexpensive way of accessorizing, adding color and texture. Perk up your home and give your living room depth inexpensively with a bouquet of vibrant flowers set in an equally vibrant vase.

Remember, your home is not just where you live physically, but emotionally as well. It is a good investment to make for your well-being. Simplify your space, create order, live a less stressed, happier and focused life. It's a goal worth pursuing,

Live beautifully!
