The Festival is undoubtedly the largest multi-dimensional leisure, tourism and entertainment programme in all of West Africa. Culminating in a Thanksgiving Ceremony on the 1st of January in the next year.
The organizers of the festival according to a press release signed by the Chief Press Secretary to the Cross River State Governor and SA media, Christian Ita says, they are promising a bigger and better event this year.Indeed, apart from the traditional activities, the organizers have introduced new events to the festival to ensure this year’s is the best ever.
Some of the new events introduced into the festival include the festival of Arts and craft. There is also the poetry slam and a 3 on 3 basketball competition featuring teams from the USA, Cape Verde and Nigeria.

The most anticipated event in the Festival (One which I like very much) is the two-day Carnival Calabar, which spices up the Festival and jacks up my adrenaline level. The colourful Carnival Calabar attracts over 100, 000 costumed revelers, and over a million local and international spectators.
The Carnival, tagged Africa' s Biggest Street Party is a unique selling point for the Festival, and one which everyone looks forward to.
