Bale Makes Transfer Record

It's official: Gareth Bale, the Tottenham Hotspur pacy midfielder has signed for Real Madrid for a whooping transfer fee of £85.3m ($132m), making him the most expensive player in the world!
Amid the flurry of last night's deadline rush, the 24-year old Wales International was snapped up by Real Madrid in the record-breaking deal just minutes to the transfer deadline.

His move to the Spanish giants has been the subject of intense debate, with football pundits suggesting that the purported fee is outrageous, especially for a player whom they feel does not merit the figure.

Well, that's all in the past now. The guy's moved, money's changed hands, and life goes on.

Is Bale worth that much? Is any player even worth that much? Should football clubs even pay such ridiculous fees for players?

Who knows? What we do know is that if the guy does not justify such a huge figure on the pitch, then his future might just begin to look like that of Fernando Torres in no time.

We wish him the best.
