An actual working replica of the doomed super cruise ship, The Titanic, is to be built, commissioned, and could be due to set sail in as soon as. . . wait for it. . . 2016!.
This idea is the brain-child of Australian Billionaire, Clive Palmer, and was announced at a press conference in New York. According to Palmer, "It will be the most safe cruise ship in the world when it launches."
. . . They said the same thing about the Titanic in 1912,
. . . And they kept on saying it up until they hit the iceberg, and Rose was enjoying a warm ride on the floating door while Jack was freezing his a** off in the ice-cold water!
The maiden voyage of the 883 foot boat will set off from Southampton, equipped with a gym, Turkish baths, a squash court, a grand staircase and swimming pools.
Palmer concluded: "The Titanic stands as a monument and hope [for] everyone who came to America to fulfill their dreams. Today, we know the U.S. has become what it has become.
"A great Republic is the best hope for the world and mankind, and the Titanic can play a big role in that."
Unlike its unfortunate predecessor, prospective passengers on Titanic 2 can heave a sigh of relief, because the ship will have state of the art technology to, among other things, DETECT ICEBERGS, Internet, air conditioning and other modern features required to make a cruise enjoyable.
Though we wonder if anyone would ever calm down enough to 'enjoy' the ride, knowing what they do about what happened to the last people who boarded a ship with a name like 'Titanic'.
Interestingly though, passengers will come on board in full 1920s regalia, and there will be the class segregation thingy as was in Titanic, however passengers will get to switch around every few days.
They real question is. . .
. . . Will you be brave enough to buy a ticket for that cruise?
May history not repeat itself. . .
