Amanpour Counters Jonathan. . .

This short take on Nigeria's power situation by CNN's Amanpour seems to have touched a rather tight chord with Nigerians. . .

This comes after the CNN presenter hosted Goodluck Jonathan on her show, Amanpour, and quizzed the president about the power debacle in the country.

The president replied by saying that Nigeria has power, and that she should ask Nigerians, since he's certain that his government is doing everything to make sure that the power remains constant. So. . .

Amanpour asked Nigerians.

This short clip also took place after a power outage marred the Super Bowl, now, they're likening it to the situation in Nigeria.

Did she go overboard? Is she even right?? Has the power situation actually improved just as Jonathan said???

Some posit tha everything about this interview looks managed to suit the theme behind the take.

It's been said that when you talk about serious issues affecting you as a people, you don't laugh. . .

. . . But then again: Aren't we a hardy people?

Haven't we been known to laugh in the face of our adversities?

What's with always showing slum areas in Nigeria whenever international news media come calling with camera and tripod?

We have well-developed, well-structured and good-looking places too, you know.

And who the hell keeps as much as four (4) generators in their homes anyway?

Could it be possible that two or three need servicing, hence one more working at optimal capacity is needed to guarantee uninterrupted power supply?

However we look at it, this short clip by Amanpour continues to generate heated controversy within the geographic entity called Nigeria.
