In the second group C match at the African Cup of Nations Football tournament (AFCON) between Nigeria and the defending champions, Zambia, The Nigerian team surrendered a goal lead to draw the match 1-1.
I just hate it when I'm right.
The Super Eagles of Nigeria seemed to have the game in the bag when in the 25th minute, Zambian defender, Davies Nkausu felled Ahmed Musa in the box. Up stepped midfielder, Mikel Obi to take the spot kick. . .
. . . And he shot wide.
Un-freaking-believable!!!
They did it again! They got us believing they could actually do it, go on to score a goal, only to concede an equalizing penalty goal, scored by. . . wait for it. . .
. . . The goalkeeper. . . of all persons!
With the other teams in the group (Bourkina Faso and Ethiopia) playing next (having played a draw each), Nigeria and Zambia run a tightrope.
What're they going to do in the next match?
