The Presidential Amnesty Office released a statement today in Abuja stating that 113 former militants had been offered employment in maritime, welding and fabrication companies at home and abroad.
The statement said, "that Proclad Group of Companies in Dubai, United Arab Emirates (UAE) offered employment to 30 of the 150 ex-militants, who were trained by the Proclad Academy because of their exceptional conduct and performance"
We commend the government for steering the energies of these youths into more productive ventures, and making them useful members of the society.
Kinda makes me wonder. . . What they would do for the members of Boko Haram, should their requests for dialogue be granted.
Militancy seems to be paying off these days. It looks like all you need for a miracle to happen is to grab a gun, kill a few people, and poof! you've got yourself a job!!
The future would tell where this possible dialogue would eventually lead us.
Sometimes, I think I'm in the wrong business.
