Ejigbo LCDA Chairman Kidnapped!
It's being reported that the Ejigbo Local Council Development Area Chairman, Kehinde Bamigbetan, has been kidnapped by gunmen, in Lagos, Nigeria.
The Chairman was on his way home on Monday, when close to his home on Ona Mimo street, Ori-Oke, Egbe Bridge, gunmen who'd laid in wait for him, opened fire on his car.
The driver reversed the car for a getaway, but he ran into an electric pole, stalling the vehicle. The gunmen who'd given chase, caught up with the car, and dragged the Chairman out, bundling him into their vehicle, and making away with him.
An official who claimed anonymity, gave this information to The Nation Newspaper, and said management had made an official report to the state governor Babatunde Fashola, the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, the Commissioner of Police and other party leaders on the development.
Our prayers go to the family of the kidnapped, and we pray his abductors return him safe and sound to his family.
While we're doing that, let's spare a prayer for the driver. . .
He wasn't kidnapped, but his escape (presumably unhurt) makes him a prime target for the Nigerian police, and a primary suspect in the case. . .
. . . God help him. . .
