Count Suarez!

In an English Premiership match on Sunday between Liverpool and Chelsea, Liverpool forward, Luis Suarez was caught nibbling on the arm of Chelsea defender, Branislav Ivanivic.

Suarez was spotted biting the Chelsea defender during their 2-2 draw at Anfield, home of the Liverpoolians.

Though Suarez helped create their first goal, and scored the second to earn them a well needed equalizer in the 97th minute, his action put a dampner on preceedings for the Anfield supporters.

Suarez later apologized in a statement “I apologise to my manager and everyone at Liverpool for letting them down”, before later Tweeting: “I’ve spoken to Ivanovic on the phone and I could apologize directly to him. Thanks for accepting.”

This apology notwithstanding, his manager, Brendan Rodgers hints at a possible punishment for the forward.

Hear him: "Having reviewed the video footage and spoken to Luis, his behaviour is unacceptable and I have made him aware of this. This is a club with incredible values and ethics. There’s certainly no one bigger than this club, a player or manager."

There are unconfirmed reports that Liverpool has fined him an undisclosed sum, but no further sanctions. . . as yet.

Here's a shocker: This is not the first time Suarez has turned cannibal: While he was with Ajax Amsterdam in Holland, he was given a seven-match ban for. . . wait for it. . .

. . . Biting PSV Eindhoven midfielder, Otman Bakkal.

The English FA are silent on sanctions for the player, but we're sure they're going to come down hard on the guy.

In fact, with about 4 or 5 games remaining in the league, Suarez might not kick the ball again for Liverpool this season, and maybe. . .

. . . Ever!
