Bourkina Faso Shocks Nigeria!

   Nigeria vs Burkina Faso

Nigeria's African Cup Of Nations (AFCON) 2013 opener against Bourkina Faso got off to a disappointing 1-1 draw, as the fellow West African team pulled off a late equalizer to leave the Nigerian supporters in a state of shock.

I don't want to say I told you so, but. . . I TOLD YOU SO!

I mentioned on this blog yesterday that the Nigerian team is kinda like the Arsenal team of the English Premiership; They score a goal and get your hopes and your blood pressure up, thinking that they're possibly going to win the match, only for them to bring all your hope crashing down. . .

. . . Leaving only your BP up.

And like Brittany Spears. . . THEY DID IT AGAIN!

Emmanuel Emenike had given the Eagles the lead in the 23rd minute of the first half, only for the Bourkinabe substitute, Traore, to bang in the equalizer in 94th minute injury time.

What a heartbreaker!

We suppose it was coming; Efe Ambrose had earlier in the 73rd minute gotten a second yellow card for bringing down a player, and received his marching order, prompting his teammates to finish the rest of the match with a man less.

It proved to be a tall order, especially with all the chances the Nigerians were throwing away.

In the post match interview, Nigeria's coach, Steven Keshi said:::::

THAT HIS BOYS DID ALL THAT HE ASKED THEM TO:
Yeah. . . except score more goals than the opponent.

THAT THIS RESULT WILL NOT AFFECT QUALIFICATION FROM THE GROUP:
Of course he can afford to say that, after the other teams in the group had earlier played out a 1-1 draw.

THAT THE NEXT MATCH IS CRUCIAL:
Duhh!!! Even the football itself knows that.

And if the boys doubt that, they should just go ahead and lose their next match against the defending champions, the Chipolopolo of Zambia, on Friday at the Mbombela Stadium.
