Jonathan Talks To Amanpour
In this video interview with Amanpour on CNN, our dear President, Goodluck Jonathan, replied to issues of corruption, Boko Haram, Insurgency in Africa and the power sector.
Before I continue, let me just say that it looks like he's standing. . . Why is he standing???
. . . And what's with that weird background?
Anyway, on to the issues raised: On power (or the lack thereof), the Naija leader beat his chest on the achievements of his government in generating power. When Amanpour stated that some 60% of Nigerians don't have enough or regular power, the President said that he wished she could ask the average person, implying that WE actually see the power.
Well, I say, ASK ME, PLEEAAASE!!!
I'll give you an honest on-the-ground assessment.
He did say that before the year ends, we'll see a significant improvement in power supply. . .
. . . Then again, he's been saying that all along.
Maybe 2013 is our year. . . Maybe.
