Instagram's purported announcement of its new Terms Of Service policy (T.O.S) giving it the power to sell user photos to outside companies without compensation to the user, will most likely force its top user, Kim Kardashian to shut down her account.
Instagram continues to insist that the policy was misinterpreted, that they're NOT selling user photos, and apologised for the "confusing" language. It says it will revise the wording and release a new T.O.S soon.
Kim is taking the statement with more than a pinch of salt, 'cos she's telling friends and family she's thinking about shutting down her account and going to a rival photo-posting company, taking all of her followers with her.
As the person with the most followers of any Instagram account with 5,726,343 ahead of Justin Bieber (4,366,729), and President Obama (1,834,079), this action could plummet the photo sharing site to the bottom of the food chain.
