Yes, The First Lady Is Still Ill - President Jonathan

In an apparent confirmation of the First Lady's health condition and in stark contrast to the presidency's position on the matter, president Goodluck Jonathan on Sunday in his media chat, confirmed that First lady Patience Jonathan is still in poor health.

The president said this in response to a question fielded by Martins Oloja, Editor of The Guardian. Mr. Jonathan said, "She was ill, she received treatment." And he said she needed to recuperate before she can be active again. SaharaReporters had earlier reported that she was still sick and being visited by her German doctors and in no condition to perform her official duties, but in a swift move to contradict the story, some youths paid a visit to Mrs. Jonathan at the villa, where she made a robust statement.

The road to this ugly debacle began in Dubai, where she was first said to have been treated because her hand was twitching, subseqently after her return from Dubai, she was rushed to Wiesbaden Germany in an air ambulance where she underwent surgery to remove uterine fibroids. A sunsequent report said her condition was excacerbated by parkinson's disease.

With all the subterfuge surrounding her illness, it is a wonder that Mr president came clean on the truth, however, he did not mention the actual nature of her illness, leaving room for the speculations to continue.
