Obama will Win - Juju Man

A rather funny little story here; A juju man in the ancestral village of Obama's father in the countryside has foretold that Obama will win the United States Presidential elections.

John Dima, a respected local witch doctor said this in an a Reuters interview in Kenya as his wife offered instructions on the preparations of his prophetic potions. According to him, "His father was my friend, his grandfather was also my good friend. So I predict that Obama will win the presidency, that's all."

It's strange though that he said this BEFORE the potions were ready and he had made his divination. What he said were just his opinions, and not necessarily the result of the divination, which he was yet to make as at the time he gave the interview.

It seems to me he's going to be out of a job if Obama loses and his crystal ball-gazing skills back up his quick words. Then again; what if he divines a loss for Obama, then has the integrity to swallow his words, and Obama eventually wins. Omo, this election is throwing up some weird computations.

Why anyone would bother about a man who has never visited the town where his grandmother still lives since he took office is beyond me. Plus, he's only visited sub-Saharan Africa once in his four-year term - a brief stopover in Ghana.  Africa is not even a topic in the presidential election campaigns, but most people in Kenya are still rooting for him (I wonder why).

His policies on gay rights and the attempts by the US government to shove it down the throats of Nigerians have thought us to mind our bizwax.

The elections are still on: Let's wait and see.
