Speculations are rife that the First Lady of the Federal Republic of Nigeria may still be sick, following her return from an extended 'rest' from Germany last month.
Mrs. Jonathan was last seen on October 26th, 2012 with her husband and the Ondo State governor, Olusegun Mimiko and his wife during the cutting of her cake to mark her 55th birthday in the presidential villa.
Saharareporters learned that shortly after the public relations buzz that greeted her arrival from Germany, she retired into a medically-induced bed rest which has kept her away from the public, her official duties as First Lady, and her job in Bayelsa State as permanent secretary
A source in the presidency stated that Mrs. Jonathan's doctors in Germany have continued to visit and watch her recovery. It is unclear how long Mrs. Jonathan's bed-rest will continue as she remains inaccessible to the public, or how her absence is impacting her official duties in both Abuja and Bayelsa.
Well we hope she gets up and about soon, as we look forward to many more scenes like the love-embrace she had with her boo-boo, Goodluck. And if indeed there's something wrong with her, we trust the government will make this public, as there's no shame in being sick.
Besides, she is a public figure and the people need to know what is happening with it's leaders in all ramifications.
We follow developments as they unfold. . .
