Festival Celebration Turns Bloody

At least 18 people, 10 of them children, have died in a stampede in Patna, the capital of the Indian state of Bihar.

The tragedy occurred during Chhat festival celebrations at the Ganga Ghat in the city. Reports suggest that the stampede was triggered by an electrical wire that fell on the devotees who had gathered there.

The bodies have been brought to the Patna Medical College Hospital.
