Opening up to Vanguard Newspapers, Nigeria's punk master, and self-proclaimed Area father, Charly Boy, has explained further why he lies in a coffin and what it does for his mind and life.
He explained that he doesn't sleep in his coffin, but only lays in it, because it allows him to meditate, and helps keep his mind focused. His casket he says, is a reminder about the imminence of death, claiming that it, "wakes me up from slumber" and brings him to the quick realisation that he has little time left, and as such has to be quick and do something about life and about making an impact.
If you ask me. . . the very existence of Nigeria and strange happening in the country is a constant reminder of death. . .
. . . You DON"T need to sleep in a coffin to be reminded that death is imminent.
Just being a Nigerian is enough reminder for anyone.
