More Guns For Gidi On Christmas!

Gidi dwellers can now enjoy their yuletide celebrations in a relaxed mode, 'cos security in the state is going to be beefed up!

The Lagos State Command announced on Friday that special security strategies have been evolved to secure public places, including worship centres, markets, departmental stores, parks, gardens and event venues ahead of the Christmas and new Year festivities.

DSP Ngozi Braide, spokesperson of the command, disclosed this during an interview in Lagos.

"Tight security is in place, as well as intensified motorised patrols, while undercover operatives have been deployed to strategic places all over the state," Braide said.

The spokesperson added that the command, in collaboration with the FRSC, had designed measures to ensure the safety of residents and motorists on the highways during the period.

"The ban on Okada has contributed to the reduction of armed robbery by 90 per cent. This is because the  command has witnessed a drastic drop in robbery cases. . . "

OK, STOP PRESS!!! It's true that the 'partial' ban on Okada (notice that while the Gidi Government insists it's not a ban, the police keep on saying otherwise. . .hmmmn, curious, 'aint it?) has reduced crime rate, but to say that 'Armed Robbery' has gone down by 90%. . .

. . . Is stretching their noses a bit.

She, however, called on members of the public to always be on the alert and report the movements of suspicious persons or groups to the nearest police station.

There's nothing like heavily armed, gun-totting policemen to add a little spice to the yuletide celebrations.

It's good to know the police is our friend.
